Probably the most inland sea shanty group in Europe these buoys started out as a walking group! Sponsored by Hobson’s Brewery of Cleobury Mortimer Shropshire they take to the pubs and village halls of Herefordshire to raise money for charity when too dark to walk.
They are proud they never charge when singing for charity but since inception have racked up some £80K for local charities. They have a close connection with the RNLI both at Aberdovey and Tenby - a recent repeat outing to the Welsh coast at Aberdovey raised over a thousand pounds for the RNLI The buoys were honoured with a tour of their new lifeboat house and took coffee and port with some of the crew!
Hobson's choice are delighted to be back at Falmouth for this year's festival after a 2 year absence this was not completely wasted as our alternative gig in 2015 included sharing a stage in Ludlow Castle with Robert Plant !! They bring with them rollicking sea shanties, inland countryside “shanties” stunning ballads and convivial banter. You never know what may happen when watching 'The Buoys’.
