The Naze Shanty Crew are delighted to be back in Falmouth for 2016. That’s if we all make it…. Pam and Jon plan to sail round from Walton on the Naze – let’s hope they don’t have to jump ship and hop on a train at Brighton or Brest - or Bridlington. It’s a drastic but noble way of reducing the pressure on the B&B.
So here we are in the back bar of the Alma Inn which you may recognise from the Harwich International Shanty Festival (2016 dates 7th to 9th October – see what I did there). Line up, left to right: Back row, Jerry (spiral plant down back of neck, mufti ), Pete (antlers), Keith (frighteningly normal), Mick (ditto). Middle row, Pam and Jon (the brains behind everything), Alan and Ian (who will introduce us to everyone in song). Front row - why is there even a front row? Sarah (catching a fish).
We meet every other Tuesday and after a general catch up manage to sing through at least two songs so by the time we arrive in Falmouth we’ll be note perfect! We love Falmouth and the Shanty Festival. It’s a magical, buzzing, friendly atmosphere, and the bearded ladies are just the best!
