Group Applications Now Open for the 2026 Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival

The sound of the sea will return to Falmouth next summer as the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival sets sail once again from 12th–14th June 2026 and we’re delighted to announce that applications are now open for performing groups.

Each year, more than eighty shanty crews from across the UK and around the world come together in Falmouth to celebrate maritime heritage through music. It was here that historic sailors filled our waterside alehouses with their songs, and it is here that those shanties and stories are kept alive today. From the bustling harbourside stages to the intimate pubs and bars, the festival fills every corner of the town with the rhythms and harmonies of the sea.

We welcome applications from groups of all sizes and levels of experience, from long-established crews to emerging ensembles, who share a passion for shanties, sea songs and maritime traditions.
