Falmouth Shout

For us the 2015 Shanty Festival was the best yet. In fact the event seems to get bigger and better year on year.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the event. The venues we sang at were brilliant and to go back to The Seven Stars, where we started, and perform in the marquee Amy had with the stage, PA and Brendan doing the engineering was just brilliant, It was a delight to see our old friends Hooks and Crooks in Falmouth again. We were able to go and support them in the Grapes and they were as good as ever. The finale in Events Square was even bigger than before, wonderful.

The five degrees hosted the usual informal after event sing with people from Flash Jack, some of the old Hanging Johnny, Naze Shanty Crew, Falmouth Shout and others was a super wind down.

The year started for us with a gig for Hospice Care which has resulted in a return booking. We had a great Pickle Night at Culdrose followed by a concert in Tuckingmill Church among other venues. The last gig was for The Cornish Pirates which was an absolute pleasure for us and since that the Pirates have been on a great run which does the heart of a Pirates fan the world of good.

The Shout were joined by two new members this year, Helen and John which has been good for us. If 2016 is anywhere as good as the last year it will be great. Here’s to the Festival.
