It'd been another rollicking twelve months for The Press Gang, with our first appearance on TV, if only briefly, when BBC Spotlight filmed us as we helped raise funds for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Day last October, and the successful launch of our second CD. Called 'The Gangway' it sells for just a fiver, of which £1 goes to the RNLI, for whom we have already raised well over £1000.
Since our formation in 2012 in Cornwall's St Austell Bay Area, we have been constantly adding to our extensive repertoire of songs, some old, some new, that tell tales of Cornwall and the sea. And we perform them with our popular mix of passion, humour and our own distinctive harmonies.
We continue to entertain at pubs and clubs, festivals and regattas all over rCornwall and beyond, and this is our fifth consecutive appearance at Falmouth, where we have had huge fun and made many friends over the years. Apart from our Poppy Day experience on board 'The Phoenix' in Charlestown Harbour, new venues over the past year have included regattas at Gorran Haven and Charlestown, as well as Sam's at the Bay on Crinnis Beach, and our of the county in Bere Ferrers and Ilfracombe.
On 15th July we are hosting out own shanty festival at the New Inn, Tywardreath. Come and see us there.
